ESL ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE

English as a Second language (ESL)
ESL is a common abbreviation used in schools and it stands for "English as a Second Language." These programs educate students who are not native English speakers and speak languages from anywhere in the world as their “native tongue”.
Our ESL courses are directed towards people who are native Spanish speakers. The emphasis is on English speaking, listening and writing skills to help our students cope with the English-
Class sessions will be modified according to student needs and level of English competency. Students will be assessed upon initial meeting and their English competency will be determined to place them in an appropriate English program level.
ESL classes are designed to improve all English language areas such as:

- Vocabulary

- Speaking
- Pronunciation
- Reading
- Conversation
Gaining proficiency in English is a critical skill for many newcomers to our Province and City.
